Embarking on a journey to work via bicycle may appear as a thrilling escapade, and indeed, I concur that the majority of the time, you'll traverse stunning natural scenery and breathtaking vistas. This is, in fact, the typical commencement of my daily homeward voyage after a long day at work.


As I journey homeward, my path leads me through lush parks and alongside a vast, inspiring lake that continually fuels my desire to cycle to work. Each instance I glide by the water's edge, I am convinced that the exhilarating 11 km ride is justified by the enchanting scenery.





Beyond the majestic expanse of the lake, I find myself adjacent to a stunning golf course. The serene and tranquil ambiance in this locale sets my mind adrift in meditation as I continue to pedal onward.





As I begin to embrace the gratitude for my homeward journey on the bicycle, I find myself confronted by a narrow trail alongside a massive construction zone. Here, enormous bulldozers excavate heaps of sand, generating colossal clouds of dust. If you've never experienced life with asthma, which I haven't, traversing through this area offers a taste of what breathlessness feels like. The sandy dust clings to your mouth and teeth, making you acutely aware of how it transforms into grit inside your mouth. Each time you close your lips, you sense the abrasive sand grinding between your teeth. After surviving this ordeal, I reach home, mirroring the previous day's experience, and serving as a stark reminder of the dreadful sensation of cycling.
